Choosing the Right Physical Therapist!

Choosing the right physical therapist is very important. Based on this link:

We tried to address what we are able to provide to you then!

1.    “They need to work together with their physical therapist, communicate openly, and follow their advice, as well as the advice of their physician."
It's important to find a physical therapist with whom you have a good rapport, according to Benick. "Communication is key. It's a partnership," she says.

AAA Physical Therapy: That is why under our logo has “Your Personalized Rehabilitation” because we believe in everything identified with this statement.

2.    “Choose the right practice for your needs. Call the facility and ask questions to make sure there are physical therapists with expertise in treating your particular problem.”

AAA Physical Therapy: We are more than happy to help you answer your questions and often, our physical therapists would be able to answer your phone call or call you back for clarifications and questions.

3.    “Ask who will be treating you and how much experience the therapist has. Once you begin physical therapy, make sure you're receiving care from a licensed physical therapist or a licensed physical therapy assistant.”

AAA Physical Therapy: We have over 18 years of physical therapy experience between our two physical therapists. To know more about them, please visit: http://www.aaaptmd.com/our-physical-therapists.html

4.    “Choose a location that is convenient to where you live or work.”

AAA Physical Therapy: We are located in the corner of Snowden River Parkway and Oakland Mills. 5-10 minutes from highways 32, 29, 95, and 175 and the Columbia Mall. We are 3-10 minutes from Long Reach, Owen Brown, Oakland Mills, and Kings Contrivance village centers.

5.    “Try to set up a time to take a tour of the facility before beginning therapy. A reputable practice should have no problem arranging a quick visit.”

AAA Physical Therapy: Not only a tour could be done but our physical therapists could easily provide free consultation as well!

6.    “Note if the facility is clean and well-maintained. Are therapists washing their hands between patients?”

AAA Physical Therapy: We take pride of making our facility as clean and as sanitary as possible beyond industry standards. For example, the therapists and technician does not only wash hands between patients but even within the treatment of the same patients when necessary.

7.    “Consider how quickly you can get an appointment. If you need to wait more than a week or two, you may be better off finding a facility where you can start sooner, especially if you've had recent surgery.”

AAA Physical Therapy: Being that our operating hours are from 8AM to 8PM Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 8AM to 2PM, we have a wide range of time to schedule appointments within the day or utmost, the next day!

8.    “If health insurance is an important consideration for you, make sure the practice accepts your insurance.”

AAA Physical Therapy: We do accept Medicare and Most Insurance Plans. To know more, please refer to http://www.aaaptmd.com/insurance.html

9.    “You should also receive instruction on exercises to do at home. The therapist may provide handouts, a link to a video demonstrating the correct movements, or another form of instruction to ensure you are performing the exercise correctly.”

AAA Physical Therapy: Yes, we agree of the importance of doing your exercises and stretches at home so we do provide handouts, videos, and other forms of instruction in order to complete such tasks. And these exercises and stretches are carefully planned to help you recover accordingly, reduce your pain, and increase your range of motion.

10. “Consider what the atmosphere is like. Are therapists and therapy assistants actively working with patients, or are people standing around waiting to be treated?”

AAA Physical Therapy: We carefully planned the layout and the design of the clinic to maximize the operational space and where the patients will be working and receive treatment. We also paid attention to the color combination to make the clinic cozy to reduce stress and yet lively enough to entice our patients to exercise accordingly.

Most importantly, we make it a point that the patients are under supervision by the physical therapist or the technician at all times.

And this is where AAA Physical Therapy comes in to help!
